In a surreal Tebow-fans world even minor league baseball somehow intersects with the Wildcat leader of the NY Jets.

The Lake Elsinore-Wildomar Patch reported that when a trade for Tebow was not realized, the Lake Elsinore Storm, a Single-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, settled for having their fans join them for a mass Tebowing on their field after their game last Friday.

"The record-breaking blessed event was an undertaking. In March, the Storm’s publicity department announced the July 13 'Tebowing service' with a lot of pre-event hype that included a tempting deal: 'The California League Champions Lake Elsinore Storm would like to be the first team to officially offer the Denver Broncos a trade for Tim Tebow.'

"We're not sure about Tim's baseball past," said Storm Vice President/General Manager Chris Jones, "but we are sure he could bring some of that Tebow magic to Lake Elsinore and would be a great addition to our ballclub."
