Some NY Jets teammates of the unashamed Christian quarterback Tim Tebow recently called him "terrible" and pointed to him as a reason for the team's miserable season. How did Tebow return the favor? By suiting up for the game against the New England Patriots on Thanksgiving despite two broken ribs and, he says, just in case he was needed.
"I was ready to go if they needed me," he said. "Obviously, it wasn't ideal. I just wanted to be there for my teammates and do whatever I can to help."
At some point prior to the game, Tebow's breathing sounded different, said Jets Coach Rex Ryan
"I was standing there and I was like, 'I'm not going to play this kid,'" Ryan said. "I wouldn't play my son in that kind of situation. To Tim's credit, he wanted to be there for his team."
