text size A A A

Lets face it, negativity surrounds us and it can be quite challenging to stay inspired and motivated. Every day we are faced with a set of obstacles that will challenge our faith and will make us want to throw in the towel and give up on life.

As a devoted Christian, I want do everything I can to be the best version of myself. So, I wanted to share with this community five things that help keep me grounded and my relationship close to God.

1. Practice Gratitude Daily

Every day, I focus on one thing that I am extremely grateful for. Whether it is my wife, health, friends, job, children, or this beautiful planet, when I wake up first thing in the morning I like to remind myself of how blessed I am.

Every time I remind myself, it really helps me to focus on the simple things in life. So many of us get wrapped up in all the crazy things going on around us that we forget to enjoy and appreciate the simple things.

2. Inspirational Quotes

I love reading inspirational quotes each day. Some of my favorite come from Tony Robbins, Joel Osteen, and Les Brown. Here are two of my favorites from Joel:

“I believe if you keep your faith, you keep your trust, you keep the right attitude, if you’re grateful, you’ll see God open up new doors.”

“Life’s too short to spend it trying to keep others happy. You can’t please everyone. To fulfill your destiny, stay true to your heart.”

Every day I like to read at least five inspirational quotes to help me center my mind and heart.

3. Read A Passage From The Good Book

And of course, each day I like to spend at least fifteen minutes reading from The Bible. I cannot begin to tell you how many times the good book has helped me through some difficult times.

I began reading from it when I was a young child but as I have gotten older, so many of the stories and teaching have taken on a new meaning for me. Without this book, I think my life could have take a turn for the worse when I was a young adult and being tested by temptation.

4. Time With Family

My wife and children are what keep me grounded. They remind me why I work so hard and why I am so blessed to be hear on this planet. Our lives can lose meaning and purpose if we don't have a good family around us.

Every day I get down on my hands and knees and thank God for the wonderful wife He has brought to me. And my wonderful children who I get to help guide and raise. I only hope I can do as good of a job as my mother and father did with me.

5. Time With My Dog

Every man needs a good dog. As the saying goes, “A dog is a man’s best friend” and every day I am so grateful to have such an amazing friend.

He always reminds me of how important it is to live a simple and humble life. Plus, he teaches me the importance of unconditional love.

So there you have it. My top five things that keep me inspired in this world.
