Podcasting Christians and Non-Christians in Dialogue

Christians, atheists and everybody in between, we all have a tendency to end up in intellectual ghettos, spending most of our time speaking and interacting with people that we agree with. With so little interaction with others, is it any surprise that so often we are content with stereotypes and gross simplifications?

Well on that somber note, I am happy to introduce to you "Unbelievable?" with Justin Brierley, a program on Premier Christian Radio in the UK and podcast here:

http://www.premierradio.org.uk/shows/saturday/unbelievable.aspx

What makes "Unbelievable?" so enjoyable is that it offers a 1 1/2 hour conversation every week, typically between a Christian and non-Christian (atheist, humanist, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, agnostic, you name it). And it's not like they put any old wingnut on the radio. They tend to interview well respected and articulate people like Alister McGrath, PZ Myers, Michael Shermer, Bart Ehrman, Richard Swinburne, and many others. I have been listening to the program for several months now, making my way through their back catalogue. So if you need a good podcast to listen to when you're washing the dishes, riding the bus, or going for a run, check it out.

Oh yeah, and If you know of other podcasts online which offer intelligent discussion on the issues of this blog, please let me know.

(Footnote: It is a sad commentary on the intellectual insularity of North American evangelicalism that a program such as "Unbelievable?" would probably be considered too risque for most markets.)
