The Same God Who Gave Us Liberty Condemns Homosexuality

We as Americans have a unique history of basing our legitimacy—our very essence of being a free people—upon the idea that all men are created by a Creator. Our journey from the existence as being subjects and possessions of an all-powerful but fallible king to the most powerful nation of nearly 400 million independent and self-governing individuals is built upon one great foundational principle that most nations are yet to realize…

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…”

From the beginning, we have known this Creator Being as the God of the Bible, and none other. For this reason, we have unashamedly declared that no earthly power formed by other men can legally nor legitimately seek to exercise any power or authority over us without our consent. We have acknowledged that only God is the Sovereign Ruler—the owner, possessor and determiner of man’s fate and ultimate destiny.

Even in times of personal and even national crisis, we individually or collectively turn to the same Creator for consolation or even resolution. In times of war, we have appealed to Him and Him alone for the protection of our men and women who might be sent to foreign lands to engage the enemy on the battlefield. We have established a national day for thanksgiving to our Creator in reflection of the many and bountiful blessings that have benefitted so many for the past 236 and some odd years. Even when we have been in error in our practices and policies, it has been the morality of our Creator that has brought us as a nation to repentance and correction!

It is therefore, no stretch to present the notion that this unbroken tie between Creator and creature has been the one true factor that has made the difference in outcomes between America and other nations! Again the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God are speaking to us today, and it is our duty to respond appropriately! We as mere men can change neither the Laws of Nature nor Nature’s God—we can only acknowledge and seek to remedy our conflict with it, or rebel and suffer the consequences. Our opinions are just as lasting as the breath it takes to express them, and our laws we impose upon God will end up on the ash heap of history just as in the crumbled civilizations that were before us!

We can call sodomy whatever we want to, and use any euphemism we choose, but God still calls it an abomination, and He and he alone is the Final Judge! The God who gave America its legitimacy is the same God who has spoken against homosexuality! Is He commendable in one case and reprehensible about the other?

If we are to still believe that it is God’s law for no man to exercise dominion over another, then is the word of the same God who declares in Leviticus 18:22 that Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination just as significant? In other words, does God our Creator deserve our respect or obedience as He speaks about what may be considered to be moral? The Founding Fathers saw a great immorality in the ruling authority and sovereignty of King George III and appealed to God and the Corrector of that great injustice.
