Christian apologist Marsha West's mother had a unique proverb, "A mouse in the cookie jar is not a cookie!"

What could this proverb mean?

  1. The mouse is our enemy and is eating our food.
  2. Our enemy might be where we least expect it.
  3. We should be careful when we desire something sweet. The mouse (enemy) can bite us.

Marsha shares this proverb in her article Caught up in a cult?
