The first week of July is a popular time for the display of national pride. The United States isn't the only nation celebrating independence at this time. On July 1, 1867, the British North America Act established Canada with three provinces. Canadians celebrate this event each year as Canada Day.

Wikipedia reports, "Canada Day is observed on July 1, unless that date falls on a Sunday, in which case July 2 is the statutory holiday, although celebratory events generally take place on July 1, even though it is not the legal holiday."

Just like America, Canada also includes God in its national anthem. If you listen to the song which is embedded below, you can hear the words "God keep our land glorious and free!"

The Bible teaches that God is our source of freedom. "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." - John 8:36 NIV

O Canada - the national anthem

 Lyrics to O Canada

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
