Articles by Huffington Post, Zombies Are Coming, and Zombie Research Society have examined Bible verses about resurrected humans.

Some people believe these Bible verses teach the existence of zombies. Let's take a look at some definitions of zombies.

Here are two definitions:

  • "A soulless corpse said to be revived by witchcraft, esp. in certain African and Caribbean religions" (Google)
  • "a dead body that has been brought back to life by a supernatural force" (WordNet)

The Bible prohibits witchcraft Deuteronomy 18:11-12 and in Exodus 22:18 so any attempt to revive a dead body by magic is not supported by the Bible.

Most Bible scholars would argue that the second definition is too vague. True, the Bible does teach that dead bodies are brought back to life by God and some people would define God as a "supernatural force." The most famous example in the Bible of someone dead coming back to life is Jesus. Another well known biblical account describes Lazarus being resurrected. These bodies are raised by the power of God, not by magic.
