In the book The Unchurched Next Door author Dr. Thom Rainer writes, "Only 2 percent of church members invite an unchurched person to church. 98% of church-goers never extend an invitation in a given year."

Yet Christianity is about inviting people to a celebration.

In the Parable of the Wedding Banquet we learn that most of the people invited to a wedding, refused the invitation. So the master tells his servant, "The banquet is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. Therefore, go to where the roads exit the city and invite everyone you find to the banquet." - Matthew 22:8-9 HCSB
