"As water reflects a face, so a man's heart reflects the man."  - Proverbs 27:19 NIV

Sometimes when I read the parables of Jesus, I think Jesus could be talking about me. In story of the Prodigal Son, I see myself as the prodigal son that wasted his inheritance but found a loving heavenly Father waiting with outstretched arms when I returned.

The Bible verses reveal the state of the heart.

This famous parable of the Prodigal Son has been turned into a play by Jason Hildebrand. Jason plays the prodigal son, the dad, and the older brother.

The parable is found in Luke 15:11-32.

After receiving his inheritance, the younger son leaves his family and wastes his money with reckless spending. His bad decisions lead to poverty. So he decides to return home.

"I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.'

So he got up and went to his father. "But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. Luke:15:18-20

This story is a picture of God's love for us. He is waiting for us to return to Him.
