Are Christians trivializing the biblical teaching that God will punish sin in hell? That is the question that came to mind after seeing these two photos.

If you are not familiar with what the Bible teaches about hell, the Open Bible website has compiled a list of Bible verses on this topic.

Here is one of the Bible references about hell:

And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. - Matthew 25:40-41

In 1741 Jonathan Edwards preached one of the most famous sermons on the topic of hell: "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God." During the sermon Edwards stated, "There is nothing that keeps wicked men at any one moment out of hell, but the mere pleasure of God."

Here are two more well-known quotes about hell.

William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army: “In answer to your inquiry, I consider that the chief dangers which confront the coming century will be religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and heaven without hell.”

Missionary C. T. Studd: "Some wish to live within the sound of Church or Chapel bell; I want to run a Rescue Shop within a yard of hell."—C. T. Studd
