Don't Follow the Confused Crowd

Dr. Saul Davis survived the horrific Cocoanut Grove fire, which killed 492 people on November 28, 1942. He and his wife narrowly escaped the stampeding crowd, suffocating toxic smoke, and bellowing flames. When sharing his account, Dr. Davis said something that applied far more widely than to his one harrowing experience: “My brother always said, ‘Don’t follow the crowd because the crowd is usually wrong.” Dr. Davis then went on to give credit to how that underlying concept helped him escape the chaotic, stampeding crowd and deadly fire.

Indeed, “don’t follow the crowd because the crowd is usually wrong.” How true. How very true.

It’s little wonder that our Lord compared us human beings to sheep, which act like a highly-impressionable yet swiftly moving crowd. Observing sheep is akin to observing a crowd of people. If one gets scared or excited and runs, the entire group hastens to follow. Only the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, offers what we human beings need. Otherwise, like sheep, crowds of people can be stolen by a thief and killed. Take God’s Word to heart:

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]. I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His [own] life for the sheep. But the hired man [who merely serves for wages], who is neither the shepherd nor the owner of the sheep, when he sees the wolf coming, deserts the flock and runs away; and the wolf snatches the sheep and scatters them. The man runs because he is a hired hand [who serves only for wages] and is not concerned about the [safety of the] sheep. I am the Good Shepherd, and I know [without any doubt those who are] My own and My own know Me [and have a deep, personal relationship with Me]— even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father—and I lay down My [very own] life [sacrificing it] for the benefit of the sheep.” (John 10:10-15, Amplified Version) FULL POST

Healing America

Broken hearts, broken trust. That's how many Americans feel about our country's leaders and current conditions. America, it's time to get our eyes back on Christ and not on people.

It's time to love and live like Jesus Christ. Take this verse to heart:

"If you do these things, God will shed his own glorious light upon you. He will heal you; your godliness will lead you forward, goodness will be a shield before you, and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind." (Isaiah 58:8, TLB)

Indeed, it is our duty to pray and do all we can at a local and state level to honor God. We must protect the freedoms to worship God. We must pray and work hard to preserve "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness".

Our country was built on Christian beliefs, as explained by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

Remember, the current swirling mess of politics cannot hold a candle to God's greatness and power. So, let's release our fears to Him and place our country and our lives in His hands. We like to say, "When we do our best, He'll take care of the rest." (Can we get an "amen"?) FULL POST

Bullied in America?

The irony exceeds description: Those in the LGBT movement claim to be bullied, yet they themselves bully Christians in the United States --especially Christian women and children. Why? Christian rights have become second-rate to other social groups (i.e. LGBT).

Consider this: A true Christian does not hate others. A true Christian loves others and desires all to know Jesus, yet realizes that it is up to every individual to make a personal decision for Christ. No one can force conversion. So what is there to fear?

Well, Leftists fear losing their ability to promote their sexual and financial agendas. There exists a major market for sinful practices, and there exists a major campaign to promote such practices. And it targets Christians.

Speaking of targeting Christians, Target stores have done just that: They have elected to remove a safe haven (a women's restroom) and instead create gender neutral bathrooms that allow men to follow women into restrooms without being asked questions. America Needs the Lord

"If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under."

Perhaps you feel discouraged. Our country's division, derision, and misdirection really cause many Christian hearts to grieve for America. Yes, it truly grieves our hearts. We hear from many Americans who feel discouraged and depressed. We certainly understand why. But there is hope!

Be encouraged: God can turn this country around. "In God We Trust" remains a must -no matter how we feel. When America was founded, it seemed impossible. Yet God opened doors and guided men (in spite of themselves) to provide a safe haven. We must remember that, with God, all things are possible!

Yet we didn't say that. Jesus did: "But Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'"(Matt.19:26)

Supporting Godly people who run for office is good. But we cannot allow ourselves to put faith in a candidate or cause more than in Christ.

Instead of placing your faith in a presidential candidate, Congress, group, or leader, choose to trust in Jesus today. When you take your burdens to Him, He carries them, He carries you, and He gives you what it takes to emerge victorious. During this time of turmoil, keep your trust in Jesus. FULL POST

If We Unite, We Can Win!


America currently faces numerous unprecedented challenges which threaten to snuff out our freedom. This election could be our last chance to elect a truly pro-America, pro-life president. We all need to pray hard and unite behind one candidate. If we unite, we can win. After prayer, research, and sifting through the pile of lies in the media, we support Senator Ted Cruz.

Before we share more, let this be clear: We do not desire to start a social media war among friends. We simply want to present what we've learned. And we do so with love of God and country. If you think we're wrong, please refrain from personally attacking us. We wouldn't do that to you. Please be kind. Any threats or mean comments will simply reflect the inner character of the speaker. We refuse to engage in mud-slinging. Why? We love the Lord and, with His love, we love you, too. Period.

We now face a winnowed field of candidates. Perhaps you wish someone had stayed in the race. Perhaps you remain undecided. While candidates desired our endorsement, we postponed it because of a few personal reasons. But today we prayerfully and publicly endorse Ted Cruz. We do so with respect and love of our neighbor. Some will accuse us of wanting a theocracy. That's false. Some will accuse us of being unfair to certain people groups. That, too, is false. We love all people and want America to be the beautiful melting pot it has been in the past with people of all backgrounds and races. FULL POST

Be Encouraged and Be Courageous!

Justice Antonin Scalia said it well, "Have the courage to have your wisdom regarded as stupidity. Be fools for Christ. And have the courage to suffer the contempt the sophisticated world."

The unexpected passing of Justice Antonin Scalia sent a surge of both mourning and concerning thoughts throughout our country. Who would replace him? How would this influence the already rampant judicial activism of the Supreme Court?

Swiftly, we prayed and witnessed God's assistance as our friend, U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley, rose to the occasion to stop anything from occurring in the election year. We thank God for Senator Grassley.

This entire scenario reminds us how important it remains for us to stay courageously Christian and conservative. We need less government and more Christian outreach.

Think about this: When the government attempts to replace the church through red-tape mazes and socialistic policies, the society suffers a steep moral decline in which policies police families. As today's broken families will attest, no substitute exists for moral absolutes. We are to love God and neighbor...without government red tape. Government red tape cannot even be compared to the saving red blood of Jesus Christ. When people live out His love, boundless opportunities abound for the poorest of the poor and the most challenged of the challenged. FULL POST

2016 Precept: Jesus, We Trust In You.

2016. This year has been on the minds of countless patriots for a long, long time. With the election of a new president, 2016 represents a pivotal shift. No doubt, we will face changes along with many highs and lows as a nation. After all, we always do. With that said, we need to be ready and we can be ready. How? By having faith. Faith in Christ. No matter what we face in 2016, may our precept be this: Jesus, we trust in You.

As we begin the new year, let's focus on Philippians 3:13-14 which says, "Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

Yes, our country continues to faces many serious threats against our freedoms but we can choose to confront those battles with faith, perseverance, and a positive attitude. Businessman and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar said,

"Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will."

We think Zig was right. If we sulk in negatively, that won't make anything better. Instead, we need to keep praying and keep doing all we can to help our country. America Needs Christmas

Today, America faces many new and ongoing challenges and struggles to thrive. Christmas remains especially important to our country this year. Why? Because America needs real hope. And it begins with each one of us -in our hearts.

For the Christmas of 1982, President Ronald Reagan said it well: "In this holiday season, we celebrate the birthday of One Who, for almost 2,000 years, has been a greater influence on humankind than all the rulers, all the scholars, all the armies and all the navies that ever marched or sailed, all put together. He brought to the world the simple message of peace on Earth, good will to all mankind. Some celebrate the day as marking the birth of a great and good man, a wise teacher and prophet, and they do so sincerely. But for many of us it's also a holy day, the birthday of the Prince of Peace, a day when 'God so loved the world' that He sent us His only begotten Son to assure forgiveness of our sins."

The first Christmas happened quietly just over 2,000 years ago. May each one of us hold the meaning of that night close to our hearts. Sadly, all too often Baby Jesus is not placed at the forefront of many Christmas celebrations. But we can change that... FULL POST

10 Instant Ways to Observe Veterans' Day

Yesterday, I (Stacie) rode in a taxi. But it wasn't just any taxi. It was a God-given opportunity.

The lady enjoyed being a taxi driver. But her life's road included lots of rough terrain: Her father served in the Air Force. They moved and moved and moved. It was hard.

In response, I thanked her for not only her father's service, but also for her family's sacrifice. She responded warmly and appreciated it. I shared about Jesus, and she couldn't have been more grateful. (I felt grateful, too!) I thanked God for arranging our paths to cross.

The point of the preceding story is this: In addition to the serviceman and servicewoman, everyone in a military family needs to be thanked and loved. This Veterans' Day, let's remember veterans and their families. Share the Gospel in word and deed. Reach out.

Veterans selflessly served their country. They did their duty. They did their job. Many don't expect to be thanked but they certainly deserve to be.

We must do our part and give them honor, respect, and thanks on Veterans' Day and all year through. We implore you to do something to stand beside our veterans and current servicemen and women. What's the Formula to Save America?

Are you concerned about the ever-increasing immorality and corruption suffocating the soul of our great land? We're the first to be real with you and say that it's easy to feel overwhelmed. (Some people actually think that we don't have the same feelings since we're always busy doing something to promote the Gospel and help our country. But we wrestle with the same feelings that you do.)

That "overwhelmed feeling" certainly exists and flattens many conservative Christians. In fact, the only action some discouraged Christian Americans now take could be called the "head shake": They shake their heads, maybe pray, and yet stay...still. It's time to ask this question: Are you (and are we) doing anything today to stop the advancement of evil in the USA? How do we overcome the overwhelmed feeling?

Let's talk about how:

The first step to walking into a brighter future is a decision: Choose faith instead of feelings to be your motivator. With God, you have what it takes to take our country into a brighter future! Let confident faith in Christ rule your daily planner instead of cowering feelings. Learn to ignore the "overwhelmed feeling" and instead replace it with overwhelming faith by making a choice to obey God --whether you feel like it or not. FULL POST
