To begin this edition, please join us in prayer for our country: "Lord God, we recognize that we need You yet our leaders and citizens often ignore You. We confess that we have sinned against You. Please forgive us. We have snubbed You in our public events, public schools, abortion laws, judicial decisions, etc. We've welcomed sin instead of Your Son. We ask that we would be spared. Help us to fully rely on Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross for us. Help us to love our neighbor as ourselves. Help us to love You most of all. We ask for Your mercy and grace to shower on our country and for You to draw many people into personal relationships with You. Please heal our land that we may be able to give You credit and experience Your protection as we bless Your Name instead of cursing with it. We yield to You and humble ourselves at Your feet. God, please have mercy upon us. In Jesus' Name, Amen." FULL POST

"As we peer into society's future, we -- you and I, and our government -- must avoid the impulse to live only for today, plundering for our own ease and convenience the precious resources of tomorrow. We cannot mortgage the material assets of our grandchildren without risking the loss also of their political and spiritual heritage. We want democracy to survive for all generations to come, not to become the insolvent phantom of tomorrow." -Dwight D. Eisenhower
President Eisenhower had it right. It's a shame America didn't heed his words of wisdom.
Today the United States faces a massive national debt of $17 trillion dollars. On top of that, the national unemployment rate remains high. In addition, America has over $123 trillion in unfunded liabilities. The debt is astronomical and unprecedented yet President Obama denies that we have a debt crisis. Earlier this year, President Obama said to George Stephanopoulos in an interview, "We don't have an immediate crisis in terms of debt. In fact, for the next 10 years, it's gonna be in a sustainable place." FULL POST

As people celebrate the royal baby's birth, we encourage everyone to celebrate the birth of every baby....including babies with special needs. Every baby is a gift from God; life is a gift.People with perceived disabilities enable us to see glimmers of God's love. People with special needs like Down syndrome are gifted with unique abilities to display uninhibited love, joy, and faith in Jesus. They see the beauty in life and in others and they give love unconditionally.
With all that said, it is a horrifying fact that the abortion rate of Down syndrome babies is over 90%. Yes, you read that correctly. The fact that over 90% of expectant mothers who are told that their unborn child carries the high risk of Down syndrome choose to abort the baby should make us all shudder. The devaluation of human life and human dignity is astounding. Abortion is literally genocide of the unborn and it must stop!
We're thankful for the many pro-life organizations who are speaking up for unborn with special needs and who are fighting hard to end abortion. Public figures like Sarah Palin and Rick Santorum (who have special needs children of their own) are also fighting hard for life. FULL POST

Today it is "controversial" to say that marriage is between one man and one woman --but it's true. The Lord knows what He's doing when He creates each person. That's why it's so disturbing to see how people try to take His place and change His design. The Lord loves everyone, but He does not approve of homosexual practices. Such behavior is perverse and unnatural. He has the best in mind for each person He creates which is why the Bible clearly warns against homosexuality. From Genesis on, the Bible praises the marriage of a man and a woman, but it always speaks very critically of homosexual behavior whenever it is mentioned (i.e. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Jude 7, Romans 1:18-32, Leviticus 18:22).
Marriage is a holy and sacred institution created not by man, but by God. Marriage is between one man and one woman. God designed it that way; that is what it will always be. Marriage cannot be anything else but between one man and one woman.
Next week we will learn the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling about whether same-sex "marriage" will be legalized nationwide. Earlier this week, the Pew Research Center released a report showing that media coverage was biased by a factor of 5 to 1 in favor of same-sex marriage so be alert. This is an attack on Judeo-Christian values and it's persecution against marriage. FULL POST

The month of May shed light on multiple serious cases that target religious freedom. For example, the government has used intimidation tactics to unjustly target Christian and conservative groups because they represent beliefs contrary to the Obama administration. James Dobson, Billy Graham, Franklin Graham, and various other Christian leaders have been heavily targeted by the IRS. Many join Congressman Kevin Brady (R) in asking, "Is this still America?"
But that's not all... Religious freedom for Judeo-Christian members of the military is being threatened, too. The Pentagon released a statement confirming that soldiers could be prosecuted for promoting their faith: "Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense...Court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis...". Yes, you read that correctly: The Pentagon is considering prosecuting servicemen and women for sharing their Christian faith. That's stripping away freedom from the very heroes who are fighting to keep and protect it! Read more about it here. Take action now and sign this petition called "Protect religious freedom for our troops - not attack it." FULL POST

Marriage is between one man and one woman. God designed it that way; that is what it will always be. It cannot be redefined. Marriage cannot be anything else but between one man and one woman.
This summer, we will learn the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling about whether same-sex "marriage" will be legalized nationwide. On March 26 and 27, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments concerning the constitutionality of Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and California's Proposition 8. DOMA was passed during the Clinton administration to protect marriage as being between a man and a woman. In 2008, Prop. 8 was voted on and approved by the people of California; it states that marriage is between a man and a woman as well. We pray that marriage will be defended and that the U.S. Supreme Court will not legislate from the bench by ruling in favor of same-sex "marriage" by throwing out DOMA and Prop. 8.
Today it is "controversial" to say that marriage is between one man and one woman --but it's true. God chooses our sex/gender...not humans. He knows what He's doing when He creates each person. That's why it's so disturbing to see how people try to take His place by turning marriage into something He never made it to be... Mention the name "Dr. Ben Carson" and see conservatives smile. His unexpected yet much-appreciated speech at the National Prayer Breakfast really encouraged true patriots of faith. Frankly, Dr. Carson's life story inspires us all to ignore the lies and keep our eyes on the prize: loving God, loving each other, and learning with a passion. He beat the odds. He lives a God-glorifying version of the American dream:
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Ben Carson was brought up by a single mother in poverty and in the height of the Civil Rights movement. He struggled academically in his early school years, but after his mom required him to read two books a week and produce written reviews for her (instead of watching TV), he started to excel in school. Thanks to hard work and perseverance, Dr. Ben Carson became a renowned neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins University.
Let's all follow the lead of Dr. Ben Carson and educate ourselves. Pick up a book and read it. Turn off the TV and log off FaceBook and read. You will discover a new world of opportunities. Learning is fascinating and no one can outgrow it. Start out by reading Dr. Carson's book, America the Beautiful. Most of all, we recommend reading the Bible each day - it's the very best choice to read. FULL POST

To vote for Romney is to defend your right in America to tell the world about Jesus. Little wonder it disturbs us when we hear fellow Christians say it: "Well, I'm not voting for Romney because he's a Mormon." Why is it so disturbing? It reveals a misguided concept of voting promoted by the enemy.
We're not comparing religious beliefs here. We're just trying to convey the importance as evangelical Christians to defend religious liberty by voting for Romney-Ryan, a team that has vowed to uphold freedom of religion, our Constitutional right.
Obama is the most hostile president against Judeo-Christian values in history. We must rise up for our rights to share the Gospel unhindered!
7 Reasons Why Christians Must Vote for Romney
1. Reminder: Voting means picking the candidate whose policies most parallel our preferences. As someone said to us, "We're picking a president -not a pastor." We're sticking to our evangelical beliefs and not endorsing a candidate's entire belief system when we vote. Mitt Romney promotes policies that align closest to Christian priorities. To vote for him is not to turn your back on Jesus. In fact, not to vote for him is more like turning your back on promoting God's ways.
Consider this quote from Russell Moore, dean of the School of Theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary: "I heard someone in recent days say 'I would never vote for anyone who is not an authentically professing evangelical Christian. If that's the case, then as far as I can see, you have about three candidates in the last 100 years or so that I can think of that you could possibly vote for president of the United States..." On September 11, 2012, Al-Qaeda terrorists launched a heinous attack. Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, both former Navy SEALs working under the State Department, were killed alongside U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and information management officer Sean Smith.
Stevens and Smith were killed in the initial wave of attacks when the building they were in was set on fire. The terrorists viciously paraded the ambassador’s body in the streets. The terrorists chanted, “Death to America!”
Doherty and Woods died later in a firefight trying to protect other Americans on the ground.
Our Americans fought hard to defend the embassy. Tragically, four Americans died by blood-thirsty terrorists.
So, what did President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, UN ambassador Susan Rice do in response? They called it a spontaneous protest against a YouTube video - which came out in July. And they have the audacity to apologize for it! They are not seeking justice for the American bloodshed. Plus, the White House was warned about the attacks two prior and they did nothing. FULL POST
