Last year I visited my parents during the week of Thanksgiving and we went for several walks around the neighborhood. While I walked my sister's dog, my parents followed. As they walked, my parents held hands.
My parents have been married for almost 50 years and the image I never want to forget is of watching my dad care for my mom. Even though his mind is faltering from dementia, his heart is stronger than his mind and his love can be seen in his body language.
Watching them walk together, reminds me of a Bible verse:
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. - Micah 6:8
As Valentine's Day approaches, think about your relationship with God. Can your friends and family see your love for your Creator? Do they see you walking humbly with your God?
This is one of my favorite videos on the Internet. It shows a girl imagining a lifelong relationship. Filmmaker Carlos Lascano uses stop-motion animation to make a dreamy love story. It shows the kind of love that my parents have. I hope you experience this love.
