There are so many Americans that need financial assistance and housing. Last year a forest fire destroyed more than 300 homes around Mannford, Oklahoma. Students in a Notre Dame documentary production class made this short film Out of the Ashes. It tells the stories of some of the fire victims.

Two ideas expressed by the victims are:

• "You don't realize what home is until it's gone."
• "Things happen for a reason."

If your church is looking for a possible mission project, there are plenty fire victims that still need assistance. According to the Tulsa World, the American Heritage Bank has established a fund to help the victims.
