Jaci Velasquez and True Love Waits (VIDEO)

Finding boundaries in relationships is the key to abstinence before marriage, according to Christian singer Jaci Velasquez. In this video Jaci describes her commitment and involvement in True Love Waits. Jaci took the True Love Waits pledge when she was 13.

The Pledge:

Believing that true love waits, I make a commitment to God, myself, my family, my friends, my future mate, and my future children to a lifetime of purity including sexual abstinence from this day until the day I enter a biblical marriage relationship.

Evangecube - a Tool for Sharing the Gospel (VIDEO)

Photo: Flickr/RichardGlenSailors - Creative Commons

The Evangecube is a unique tool for sharing the Gospel. The cube folds numerous times and each new fold reveals symbols representing the story of Jesus dying on a cross as a penalty for our sin and offering us a relationship with Him.

These cubes are sold in many Christian bookstores and are used by missionaries around the world to tell people about Jesus.

By watching this video, you can watch how easy it is to tell someone about Jesus with an Evangecube.

We really have no excuse for not telling our neighbors about Jesus.

My Parents Love for Each Other (VIDEO)

Last year I visited my parents during the week of Thanksgiving and we went for several walks around the neighborhood. While I walked my sister's dog, my parents followed. As they walked, my parents held hands.

My parents have been married for almost 50 years and the image I never want to forget is of watching my dad care for my mom. Even though his mind is faltering from dementia, his heart is stronger than his mind and his love can be seen in his body language.

Watching them walk together, reminds me of a Bible verse:

He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. - Micah 6:8

As Valentine's Day approaches, think about your relationship with God. Can your friends and family see your love for your Creator? Do they see you walking humbly with your God?

This is one of my favorite videos on the Internet. It shows a girl imagining a lifelong relationship. Filmmaker Carlos Lascano uses stop-motion animation to make a dreamy love story. It shows the kind of love that my parents have. I hope you experience this love. FULL POST

Inmates Pray 35,000 Times for Women's Conference (VIDEO)

This video tells an amazing story. Inmates at McPherson Correctional Facility in Newport, Arkansas, prayed 35,000 prayers for the women that attended the True Woman '12 Conference.

Janet Parshall says about the inmates, "What the world doesn't realize is that while they might have a mailing address that puts them in a facility that happens to be behind bars, these are women who have been set free and who the Lord has set free, they are free indeed."

I am Single: Where is God? (VIDEO)

In the 1980s filmmaker John Hughes made movies like Pretty in Pink and Sixteen Candles exploring teen relationships. In the film Some Kind of Wonderful, character Amanda Jones says, "I'd rather be with someone for the wrong reasons then alone for the right." Many people have this fear of being alone.

In this video Lisa Bishop, Park Community Church's Director of Women's Small Groups, talks about singleness: "What is it about being single that can literally strike fear in the hearts of men and women. I think it's because we were designed to be in relationship."

Lisa answers three questions about singleness:

  1. "What's wrong with me?"
  2. "I still have this longing for marriage. What do I do with it?"
  3. "Where is God in all this?"

Follow Me (VIDEO)

Pastor David Platt's newest book Follow Me was released yesterday. In this video Platt tells a story about a child with questions about hell and is coached into reciting the sinner's prayer for salvation. But was the child really born again? Did the child become a new creation in Jesus Christ?

According to Platt, "You look back at the first disciples in the Bible and when Jesus came up to them and said, "Follow me" - that was not an invitation to pray a prayer. That was a summons for these men to lose their lives."

Platt says the many people claiming to be Christians are not following Jesus and quotes Bible verses Matthew 7:21-22: "Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

David Platt - Follow Me

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." - Matthew 16:24
